About

The arts in education department provides technical assistance and resource information regarding American Indian art forms such as painting, drawing and sculpture to communities and the public school systems within the Chickasaw Nation service area. The department provides opportunities for school children to receive art education as it relates to the Priority of Academic Student Skills (PASS).

Art integration instruction is also provided through summer workshops for educators and in-service programs for staff development. In the arts, students develop intellectual skills such as analysis, synthesis and evaluation while finding their own "creative pulse". In completing this process, students discover a basic human truth - the need for expression through art.
