Watch the Drum Awards via Live Stream

DURANT, Okla. – The Drum Awards is proud to announce that its inaugural awards event will be streamed "LIVE" online at 7 pm (CT) on November 1, 2010 via the internet.
 
Viewers can watch as participants from around the country gather for this unique and groundbreaking event taking place at the Choctaw Casino and Resort in Durant, Okla.
 
Awards will be presented to honor Native Americans for their leadership and excellence in a variety of areas including health, arts, education and patriotism. The Drum Awards is a national program that recognizes both individuals and tribes whose contributions have gone largely unrecognized.
 
Those receiving 2010 Drum Awards include: Health and Science Award - John B. Herrington; Educators Award - Choctaw Nation Scholarship Advisement Program; Arts and Entertainment Award - Wes Studi; Environment and Culture Award - Billy Franks, Jr.; Economic Self-Reliance Award - LaDonna Harris; Tribal Governance Award - John E. Echohawk; Defense of Sovereignty Award – W. Ron Allen; Patriotism Award – Choctaw Code Talkers of World War I; and Lifetime Achievement Award – Wilma Mankiller.
