Tishomingo Boys and Girls Club Ribbon Cutting.
Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby joined Murray State College President Noble Jobe III, citizens and employees at ribbon cutting ceremonies for the Chickasaw Nation Boys & Girls Club in Tishomingo, Okla.
Ceremonies were Feb. 19 at the 1002 S. Byrd Street facility on the east end of the Murray State College campus.
“This is just another example of the long-standing relationship between Murray State College and the great Chickasaw Nation,” Jobe said.
“Together we hope to provide more opportunities to these children to help ensure their success.”
Governor Anoatubby said that the facility was more than just a building,
“This is a safe place where children can learn and grow,” he said. “This is a place where we can provide guidance to help them reach their full potential.”
The new location will serve 50 to 60 children daily and contains a computer lab, game room and a “Power Hour” room where students complete their homework before participating in recreational activities.
Chickasaw Nation Boys & Girls Clubs, Inc was established in 1998 and has since expanded with the addition of two locations in Chickasha and Sulphur.
