Mark your calendar today to attend the Chickasaw Nation Open Casting Call, set for June 29 and 30 in Ada.
Chickasaws of all ages are invited to come and share their acting, voice and modeling skills. There is no experience necessary.
The event will be at the McSwain Theatre June 29 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and June 30 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Hosted by the tribal Division of Communications, the event offers photo, video and voice recordings for aspiring Chickasaw actors and models.
"We are going to build a database of Chickasaws who would like to be included in movies, voiceovers, photo shoots and more," Communications administrator Robyn Elliott said.
Chickasaws are regularly needed for projects, including movies like "Pearl," television commercials, documentaries and more.
"With this database, we will have a great resource that will allow us to include many Chickasaws in a variety of venues," Ms. Elliott said.
The Open Casting Call is not a competitive tryout. It is an opportunity for Chickasaws to be part of a large portfolio of potential actors, models and talent.
In addition to the photo, video and voice productions, attendees will have the opportunity to attend classes.
Sessions will include how to market your talents; how to make an effective voiceover; basics of acting, and more.
Each registered attendee will be assigned a 10-minute time slot to complete the basic productions. It is important for applicants to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their slots as others will be awaiting their opportunities.
Applicants who miss their time slot will be placed on a waiting list.
