Cultural Center plans holiday activities; tribal historic sites host dinner

Classic holiday films, tribal Christmas tree ornaments, holiday music, lights and pictures with Santa will be the highlights at "A CCC Christmas" 10 a.m.-7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11 at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur.

The day's events are free and open to the public.

Refreshments including apple cider, hot cocoa and Christmas cookies will be served all day at the Aaimpa' Café. Aachompa' Gift Shops will also be offering all merchandise at a 15% discount.

Movies scheduled to be shown in the Anoli' Theater include:

"Mickey's Christmas Carol"            10:30 a.m.
"A Christmas Story"                       11:00 a.m.
"How the Grinch Stole Christmas"    1:30 p.m.

Santa will be in the Anoli' Theater foyer from 11:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 p.m. to 3 p.m. for pictures. Four by six prints will be available for purchase.

Also during this time, the Chickasaw Capitol, Council House Museum and Chickasaw White House will be hosting a holiday-themed trek through Chickasaw territory, providing a separate course of dinner at each stop.

Appetizers will be served at the Council House Museum from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; a variety of stews will be served at the Capitol beginning at 4 p.m. where a shuttle will be available to transport patrons to the Chickasaw White House where dessert will be served.

The Chickasaw Cultural Center is located at 867 Cooper Memorial Road in Sulphur. The Chickasaw Capitol and Council House Museum is on Ninth Street in Tishomingo and the White House is located on Mansion Road, ten miles east of Tishomingo in Emet.
