Head Start Parent Appreciation Dinner

The division of education acknowledged Head Start parents and volunteers at the Head Start Parent Appreciation Dinner Monday, May 10 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center in Ada.

Parents, volunteers and staff members from the Ada, Ardmore, Sulphur and Tishomingo Head Starts were present. Certificates and plaques were presented to several parents and volunteers for being committee members and officers, policy council representatives, top classroom and center volunteers, foster grandparents and reading volunteers.

Two volunteer of the year awards were presented. Rachel Wood received the Community Volunteer of the Year Award and Rachel Cooper received the Parent Volunteer of the Year Award. The Tishomingo Head Start was also recognized for being the center with the most books read and having the most reader volunteers.
