The Cultural Resources department of the Division of History and Culture will be sponsoring Elders Day 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2009 at Kullihoma.

Elders Day, a semi-annual event, is intended to show honor to the elders and provide opportunities to share their knowledge about the culture and traditions of the Chickasaw people.

"This is a time where the elders can get together and talk about the past," said Eddie Postoak, director of the Cultural Resources department.
 An Indian taco lunch, community council updates and a presentation on fraud and home invasions by the Lighthorse Police are on the agenda this year.

Kullihoma is located seven miles northeast of Ada, Okla. on Highway 1.
