Attorneys for the Indian Trust Fund Lawsuit will be in Oklahoma next week to discuss the $3.4 billion settlement to the case.
Keith Harper, Rob Harmala and Alex Pearl will be conducting meetings at the Wichita Tribe Housing Authority Iscani Community building, 1 Coronado Circle, Anadarko at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 14. Later that afternoon at 3:30 p.m., a similar meeting will be held at the Best Western Motel located at 1125 East Gore Blvd, in Lawton.
On Tuesday, March 15, the team will be in Durant for a meeting at the Choctaw Casino and Resort Conference Center, 4418 South Hwy 69/75 at 1 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 16, the attorneys will be at the Muskogee Civic Center, 2nd Floor, Room D; 425 Boston St in Muskogee at 10 a.m. On the same day at 6 p.m., the Tulsa Creek Community building located at 8611 South Union will host the meeting.
"The settlement represents a hard-won victory for individual Indians," lead plaintiff Elouise Cobell said. "Our hope is that these meetings and a public awareness campaign we are conducting will get hundreds of thousands of Native Americans to apply for these funds, it has always been their money and I am delighted we can finally return some of it to them."
