Celebrate Mother's Day with the Chickasaw Nation

Mother's Day Tea, Mother's Day Celebration Planned at Chickasaw White House, Cultural Center.
 
The Chickasaw Nation is hosting two unique events to honor mothers during Mother's Day weekend, May 11-12.

The Chickasaw Nation Cultural Center, Sulphur, is hosting Mother's Day Celebration May 11-12.

All mothers will receive free admission to Chikasha Poya Exhibit Center and free cookies and tea in the Aaimpa' Café.

A free Mother's Day card workshop will be conducted for children 12 and under, and a special Saturday stomp dance to honor mothers is also planned.

Special sales will be offered in the gift shop.

The Mother's Day Celebration will be conducted 10-5 p.m. Saturday, May 11 and noon- 5 p.m. Sunday, May 12.

Meet mom for tea at the Chickasaw Nation White House's old-fashioned Mother's Day Tea Saturday, May 11.

The family-oriented event will take place from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, May 11 at the White House, 6379 E. Mansion Road, Milburn, Okla.

Tea sandwiches, fruit, cookies and small cakes along with hot tea, iced tea and lemonade will be served at the White House, which was the home of Chickasaw Governor Douglas H. Johnston in the early 1900s.

Guests may have their picture taken, and a croquet game will be set-up on the lawn.

Mother's Day Tea is free and open to the public.
 
The restored historic home will also be open for tours, upon request.

Directions to the Chickasaw White House:
From downtown Tishomingo go east on S.H. 78 through Milburn, approximately three miles, watch for cemetery sign on east side of highway, turn right  (west) at the cemetery sign, (Mansion Road), for approximately a half-mile. The White House is setting on the right (north) side of the road.
