The purchase of approximately six acres of land for construction of a senior nutrition site in Duncan, Oklahoma was approved today. Construction of the facility will fulfill plans announced by Chickasaw Nation Governor Bill Anoatubby during a July 20, 2004, community dinner in Duncan."We are extremely pleased to take this step toward fulfilling our goal of a new senior site to meet the needs of Chickasaw citizens living in the Duncan and Marlow area," said Gov. Anoatubby after plans to purchase the property were approved.
Current plans call for construction of a senior nutrition site which will include a kitchen, dining room, activity area and administrative offices. Facility design is underway.
The six acre parcel is located at 1909 W. Plato Road.
