Full-time Employee Benefits
Retirement: Employees are eligible for participation in the Chickasaw Nation 401K retirement plan after completing six months of employment. The Chickasaw Nation will match employee pre-tax contributions up to 5%. Your pre-tax Contribution election will specify a percentage of your pay, per payroll period, that you wish to contribute to the plan. The maximum amount you may contribute to the plan will depend on limits imposed under the Internal Revenue Code. For 2013, the limit is $17,500. If you are age 50 or older, you may also make an additional catch-up contribution per year. Questions concerning the current contribution rates should be directed to the benefits office - Administrative Services Division at (580) 559-0760. Employees may direct the investment of their funds under the 401K plan.
Annual Leave: For one to three years of service, annual leave is accrued at the rate of 3.08 hours per pay period; for four to 12 years of service, the accrual rate is 4.62 hours per pay period; for 13 years of service or more, the accrual rate is 6.15 hours each pay period. Forty hours of annual leave, plus the hours accrued for October, November and December, may be carried over to the next calendar year. Any hours in excess of this amount will be lost.
Sick Leave: For one to three years of service, the sick leave accrual rate is 3.69 hours per pay period; four years and above, the accrual rate is 4.62 hours per pay period. Sick leave hours may be carried over. Employees begin accruing leave on their first day of employment and are eligible to take annual and sick leave after completing 90 days of employment.
Insurance: Employees are eligible for insurance after completing 90 days of employment. Insurance premiums are 100% paid by the tribe for employees. Dependent coverage for Medical/Dental/Vision & Prescription can be purchased for $25 per month. Coverage includes:
- Medical- Dependents are eligible for coverage up to age 26, or if the dependent is disabled, either physically or mentally, coverage is available. There is a $400 deductible per person per calendar year, or a maximum family deductible of $700 per calendar year, for major medical. Benefits are payable at 90% for a preferred provider organization (PPO) and 70% for Non-PPO providers. If seeing a PPO provider, the insured is responsible for a $20 co-payment for office visits (this does not go toward satisfying the $400 deductible) and benefits are payable at 90% with the employee paying 10% after meeting a $400 deductible. Emergency room charges are subject to a $50 deductible per visit.
- Dental- $1,500 annual maximum benefit per covered person. No annual deductible preventative and diagnostic dental is payable at 100%. Orthodontics is also included.
- Prescription- generics $0 and brand name medications $20
- Vision- $125 benefit per person per calendar year
- Life (twice the annual salary, not to exceed $500,000)
- Short-term disability (26 weeks at 80% of salary, not to exceed $750 per week)
- Long-term disability (60% of salary, not to exceed $10,000 per month)
Cafeteria Plan: Employees are eligible to participate after completing 90 days of employment. The cafeteria plan includes flexible spending accounts for unreimbursed medical expenses and dependent day care. Employees may also choose from the following list of supplemental insurance plans: critical illness, accidental coverage, dental, life, and vision.
Holidays: Employee's birthday, New Year's Day, Martin Luther King's Birthday, President's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Piomingo Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Other Benefits Available: Employees may select from other options, including Legal Shield (formerly Pre-Paid Legal Services Inc., Employee Assistance Program, Bank2, Weokie Credit Union and Sam’s Wholesale Club.
Part-time Employee Benefits

Personal Leave Time: Beginning March 1, 2006, each part-time employee:
- who has completed a minimum of one continuous year of service, and has worked an average of forty (40) hours or more per pay period, shall receive forty (40) hours of accrued personal leave;
- who has completed a minimum one continuous year of service, and has worked an average of less than forty (40) hours per pay period, shall receive twenty (20) hours of accrued personal leave;
- who has not completed the minimum one continuous year of service by March 1, 2006, shall receive the forty (40) / twenty (20) hours of accrued personal leave after his/her first anniversary date is met; or
- who was hired on March 1, 2006 and after, shall receive the forty (40) / twenty (20) hours of accrued personal leave after his/her first anniversary date is met. Additional personal leave may be accrued for the each additional continuous year of service completed. Personal leave shall be based upon average hours worked in a pay period. Employees shall receive the forty (40) / twenty (20) hours of accrued personal leave. These accrued hours earned shall be dispersed after the completion of each new anniversary date. Up to twenty (20) hours of personal leave may be carried over from year to year. Any unused accrued personal leave over the twenty (20) hour limit shall be forfeited on the employee's established date of annual carryover.
Part-Time Insurance: Employees are eligible for insurance after completing 90 days of employment.
- Employees working an average of 30-39 hrs per week have 2 options for medical, vision and prescription coverage. Dependent coverage is available for both plans for an additional cost, visit with the benefits team for specifics.
1. Insurance with an Annual Maximum of $100,000, this option is provided at no cost the employee; or
2. Insurance with Unlimited Coverage, this option is available for $100 per month
- Employees who work an average of 20-29 hours per week are provided insurance coverage with an Annual Maximum of $100,000 at no cost to the employee. This coverage includes medical, vision and prescription coverage.
